Piper Cockey's first novel, The Soldier's Wife, is a powerful and evocative First World War romance telling of the love and rivalry between two very different sisters, Clementine and Claudia. Doing her duty for her country, Clementine is a nurse who works on the front line while Claudia is more interested in living the good life at home in England. When they both find the perfect man, their differences are highlighted as never before and their relationship is tested to its limit. Moving between the hellish field hospitals of wartime Europe, London and the English countryside, The Soldier's Wife explores what it means to be a sister and the true nature of love. Piper, who works in publishing in the south west of England, is currently working on her second novel.
