Tom Canty was born in Dartford, Kent in 1981. He was educated at Dartford Grammar School and the University of East Anglia where he read English Literature. He moved to London to work as a copywriter for a stag weekend agency before resigning to write his first novel, Clapham Grand, which charts the contrasting experiences of two naïve graduates in London as the global financial crisis looms. Tom has also performed stand-up comedy and in 2008 reached the final of a national new act competition. He lives in Parsons Green, London and is currently writing his second novel.
